The Service Agreement / Remit and Constitution documents how Flags will be run and is available to download.
All members of Flags should read this document.
Remit
The Remit of FLAGS is to provide Active Support to all members, and people associated with Scouting with regards to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender issues.
- FLAGS will run its own annual activities and events
- FLAGS will attend other Scouting activities and can provide active support at Scouting events where appropriate / requested.
- FLAGS will also provide active support and publicity at non Scouting events such as Pride events.
- FLAGS will provide a basic online support website with written literature, links to external Support Organizations and a Forum, this should be developed overtime.
- FLAGS will promote and actively support local diversity and equal opportunities schemes and will work with County / Area / District and other based members with this role to develop LGBT Support.
- FLAGS will work with other external LGBT organizations in order to receive training, support advice and funding.
- Encourage and actively support more people to be out in Scouting and to encourage more suitable Adults to join scouting in order to aid adult recruitment and retention.
- FLAGS to Support Headquarters Diversity Teams, and associated measures from HQ, FLAGS will provide help and Support where needed.

- To work with the Headquarters Diversity team to consider changes to POR Chapter 2 adding or altering “marital or sexual status” to “marital or sexual orientation”

- Request an article to be published in Scouting Magazine
- Request an article to be posted on the news page of scouts.org.uk and the Scouting Plus
- To make a suggestion to the Scout Association Diversity Teams and work with them to produce a new Diversity poster, similar to the Young People first and Bullying Posters for display in every Scout Premises.
- Publicity in Gay Media such as Pink news
Excluded
- It is not feasible to provide a switchboard or telephone based Support Service.
